The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. The release of the first trailer for the 7th and final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars signifies an end of an era which has been 12 years in the making since the 2008 movie from which the series began. Set between the events of Episodes 2 and 3 of the prequel trilogy, this series has contributed a great deal to Star Wars Canon with Dave Filoni at the helm under the supervision of both George Lucas and John Favreau. This season however, will involve multiple scenes from Revenge of the Sith and a more in depth look at the events of Order 66. It also features the much anticipated dual between Darth Maul and Ashoka Tano with Maul having reassembled his double bladed lightsaber.
Other scenes confirmed for this season include The Siege of Mandalore, as well as a final appearance of General Grievous in the series. Sadly according to statements made by Dave Filoni, we won’t get to see the much anticipated standoff between Cad Bane and Boba Fett, although that doesn’t mean that we won’t see that event in future Star Wars media. Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7 is set to premiere on February 21st, 2020 on Disney plus.
