THE GENIUS OF SAM HOUSER

If you’ve never heard the name of Sam Houser, you probably know one of his greatest creations: Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto game series. Simply put, Sam Houser and his brother Dan Houser played a major part in the evolution of gaming as we know it. Sam and Dan were responsible for laying the foundations of the open-world style game to what it is today. With games such as Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire and yes, Grand Theft Auto they were able to modernize multiplayer capabilities and overall maintained a constant search via Youtube to understand and build on what their players actively did in their games, making the next game in the series always better than the last.

In the beginning of the journey, the brothers struggled with a lot of issues as to the game’s content which allowed for (as we all know) a rather large amount of in game violence and mayhem. This backlash came mostly from parents of those that play the game and taking part of the in-game violence. Even so, the Houser Brothers were able to stand their ground despite the backlash.

In the current moment, there have been great concerns in regards to the future of Rockstar Games since the recent exit of Dan Houser from Rockstar’s leadership. I mean who wouldn’t? One of the primary writers and designers for the GTA and RDR series’ is leaving. However, it can also be said that his brother Sam Houser has been just as much a part of the creation and development as Dan. That being the case, the fact that the position formerly held by Dan Houser would be just as effective with Sam Houser in the driver seat.
