Kevin Parker, lead singer of Tame Impala has just recently left his 5 year hiatus to deliver to the world his new album: “Slow Rush”. The album will feature a series of genre blends such as psychedelic pop, acid-house, old western, disco, and many others. According to Parker, he had no idea that these genres were capable of blending together.
After a significantly busy five years of traveling, touring, designing and traveling Kevin Parker has certainly grown in confidence clearly expressed in his fourth studio album since the highly acclaimed album “Currents”. “Currents” as we know was itself experimental and showcased Kevin Parker’s coming into his own and really developing the Tame Impala sound. Slow Rush builds on the aesthetic of the previous album and presents to the world Parker’s visions of the future as he grows older and continues his path of growth as he strives to reach his full potential.
Like many musical artists, Kevin Parker uses music as a form of personal expression and according to Parker himself, he has received feedback that this album is the darkest album yet from Tame Impala.
As one of the most anticipated albums of this year, Slow Rush is sure to have been worth the wait.
