And now for the movie we’ve all been waiting for. A movie based on the making of one of the most iconic pieces of American Cinema, The Godfather. According to reports, Barry Levinson, known for movies such as “Good Morning Vietnam” (1987) and “Rain Man” (1988) is set to head up the film with renownd actor Oscar Isaac set to be in the starring role as THe Godfather director himself, Francis Ford Coppola.
The film will be titled “Francis and The Godfather” will feature other well known celebrities namely Jake Gyllenhaal in the role of former Paramount Producer Robert Evans. The script was initially developed by Andrew Farotte and redeveloped by Barry Levinson Himself. The movie is anticipated to be the most in depth look into the making of the Hollywood Classic.
According to Levinson, so far none of the actors that starred in The Godfather have been cast as of yet which held Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and James Caan in the title roles. Though we are optimistic that the roles will be filled soon.
This Barry Levinson film was announced after ViacomCBS had given news that it’s own TV Series based on the making of The Godfather called “The Offer”. That particular series will cover the production from the angle of Producer Al Ruddy. Neither the TV Series nor the Movie have a set release date.
