On Oct 8, a home inspired by Frank Lloyd-Wright in Savannah, Georgia is hitting auction.
The Georgia residence is 6,595-Square feet with 4 bedrooms, 5 and-a-half bathrooms and is located in the highly exclusive Skidway Island, Modena Island community. The property is set to auction starting at $2.7 million and is listed by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and it’s subsidiary, The Bay Street Realty Group.
The current homeowners, Sandra and Donald Mayer (of the Oscar Mayer Hot-dog family) are quoted as saying that “the home was designed to take maximum advantage of the views”. Seeing as the property overlooks the rivers of Wilmington and Skidway, as well as surrounding marshlands, it must certainly be a sight to be seen.
Sandra Mayer has also been quoted as saying: “Our inspiration for the house design was to bring outdoor living in and inside living out [by] using extensive glass and warm wood finishes, elevated decking, landscaping and gardening, and the arts-and-crafts feeling reflecting the Frank Lloyd Wright architectural style.”
The house was originally listed as costing $3.4 million in December of 2019, the price decrease may possibly be the result of the Pandemic. The house also features a 3-car garage, a 1-bedroom guest house, a greenhouse and an exercise room.
The house is only a 25-minute driving distance away from the mainland Savannah.
