The collaboration between Sotheby and Prada is finally here with their much-anticipated FW20 collection. The collection has 72 pieces that will be sold at the “Tools of Memory” auction. This collection will mark the end of Miuccia Prada’s reign as co-creative director as Raf Simmons gears up to take on that extraordinarily important role.
The auction however, is not clothing on its own. The auction will also feature invitations, backstage photos, a soundtrack on Vinyl, and of course runway décor. These were also a part of this year’s Milan Fashion week. The collection is expected to gain: between $15,000 to $17,600 for it’s top ticket item: a hand sewn dress, with a headband, choker, leather Mary Jane pumps and a bracelet. Though not specifically men’s fashion, it doesn’t take away from this collection’s importance.
All proceeds will be donated to UNESCO’s campaign for Global Education. It focuses on the promotion of education continuity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic school closures.
