Many of us have heard of Ryan Reynolds new sci-fi comedy “Free Guy” to be released on December 11 this year. Well it appears that director Shawn Levy has chosen to gift fans of Reynolds with a trailer released earlier today!
In the film Reynolds plays a man named Guy, a bank teller an NPC in an open world video game. The movie centers around Guy’s dissatisfaction with the arrangement he is a part of and he decides to change things by making many decisions that have a major impact on the character.
The movie was initially presented by Shawn Levy as well as Ryan Reynolds at Comic-Con as “a modern-day Back To The Future”. Other cast members include Taika Waititi of “What We Do In The Shadows” and Joe Keery of “Stranger Things”, alonside Jodie Comer and Lil Rel Howery.
Reynolds was quoted by an article by Collider as saying: “It’s just so unusual these days to get a movie made that’s based on nothing”. Aside from being the film’s title character, Reynolds is also listed as one of the film’s producers.
The film was originally supposed to have a summer release, though with the COVID-19 pandemic delaying many film releases, the release has been moved to December 11. With the release subject to changes due to the pandemic, the trailer adds a question mark at the end of the video.
