House Of The Dragon, the prequel series to Game Of Thrones has made it’s first casting decision: Paddy Considine, to play the role of King Viserys I. For those who are un-familiar with this character, Variety reports that “Viserys I was the successor to the Old King Jaeheris Targaryan at the council of Harrenhaal”.
Paddy Considine has already had his share of experiences involving HBO with his roles in “The Third Day,” as well as “The Outsider”. In terms of movies, he has been cast in several films in the past, namely “Cinderella Man”, “Hot Fuzz”, “The Bourne Ultimatum” & the Netflix movie “The Death Of Stalin” alongside the likes of Steve Buscemi & Jeffery Tambor.
The Game Of Thrones spinoff takes place a few centuries prior to the events of Game Of Thrones and explains the significance of the House of Targaryen. Expected to have about a 10 episode run, it is speculated to be released sometime in 2022. The series will be based on the book “Fire & Blood”, written by Game Of Thrones Creator, George R.R. Martin.
At this point in time, Paddy Considine is the only actor cast in this series so far.
