Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor and infamous comedian Andy Samberg is reported to be in the process of developing a superhero comedy movie, alongside Craig Robinson (The Office & Pineapple Express) and Common (Suicide Squad & Quibi’s: The Princess Bride). The film is going to be titled: “Super High” and takes place in a world where there’s a special strain of marijuana that, when smoked, gives the user superhuman abilities.
The screenplay will be written by Adam Mansbach and is based on a story written by Trailer Park Boys & Wynonna Earp actor, Shamier Anderson. Anderson is also set to be on the board of producers.
The movie was reportedly the subject of a bidding war between various studios due to its plot/storyline. The war was eventually won by New Line Cinema in a 7 figure deal, alongside a production commitment. The project, since it is still in the production phase, has yet to have a set release date.
