Rihanna went on her Instagram stories to publicly apologize for the outrage sparked due to her use of the ‘Doom’ track by Coucou Chloe. This was at her show for Savage x Fenty Vol.2 for lingerie. She was accused of deliberately causing cultural appropriation.
The show itself was considered remarkable due to being highly diverse in culture but the track used had voice samples of a Hadith. These are sacred verses for the Muslims as they are records of sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad and are used for religious guidance.
Online Muslim community showed their feeling about this and many of them were fans of Rihanna. Hence, it was seen that both Rihanna and Coucou Chloe were quick to apologies to the upset masses and the song was due to be removed from streaming services.
