Since the recent announcement that Jamie Foxx will be reprising his role as Electro in the 3rd installment in the Marvel Studios Spider-Man series, fans have been eagerly awaiting what news about upcoming MCU films will have to offer.
Aside from the casting of Sam Raimi (who also directed the original Spider-Man Trilogy) as the director of upcoming MCU film “Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness”, it has also been revealed that the next Spider-Man film will feature a mentor-student dynamic between Peter Parker and…wait for it…Doctor Strange.
We’ve already seen the same dynamic between Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and RDJ’s Iron Man in previous movies, though with the Tony Stark character no longer in the MCU there seems to be a void left unfilled in the life of Peter Parker. That being said, due to the comedic back and forth displayed between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War, and the fact that both Spider-Man 3 and Multiverse of Madness are both set to begin filming this year, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to suggest that there may be some continuity/overlap between the 2 films.
With the return of Jamie Foxx, as well as Doctor Strange’s presence in Spider-Man 3 alongside the Multiverse storylines, it raises the question of whether or not the Spider-verse of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man will be merged with the MCU Spider-verse, bringing a live action “Into The Spider-verse” storyline into the MCU.
Though given that there isn’t too much information on the upcoming movies fans can only speculate as to what will occur in either Spider-Man 3 or the second installment of Doctor Strange.
