French software designer Philippe Starck from ICARE technologies has developed a self-charging Black and White ring that will allow easy payments for regular expenses, identification and public transport.
The AEKLEY’s ring, as it is called, would be worn on the index finger with an activation button on the back of the ring with the thumb. The ring would make payments when passed in front of a contactless reader.
The ring will be compatible with Mastercard, AMEX and Visa. It will also have an antimicrobial finish, making the ring waterproof.
We are all aware of the up and coming presence of wearable and portable tech in our everyday lives and even though the ring will for the time being only be available in France, it’s no doubt that it’s prevalence in society is only at the beginning stages.
The ring is priced at 243 EUR (293 USD), again, only available in France.
