We’ve all heard of the Netflix documentary series “Tiger King”. Though few of us may have expected, one of the featured individuals Bhagavan “Doc” Antle is facing charges of Felony Animal Trafficking. The charges were brought by Mark Herring, the Attorney General of Virginia on Friday. The Animal law Unit had conducted a prior investigation taking several months.
Other charges brought against Antle are: 4 misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act, 9 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and 1 felony count of conspiracy to sell/transport endangered wildlife.
Charges have also been brought against owner of Wilson’s Wild Animal Park in Virginia, Keith A. Wilson, having gained custody of over 100 animals that were “cruelly treated, neglected or deprived the animals of adequate care.”
Antle’s daughters are also having charges filed against them for misdemeanor animal cruelty and violating the Endangered Species Act. Doc and his daughters have yet to be arrested as of yet.
