In the race to make sustainable and eco friendly clothing, H&M have taken a very bold step and released their new LOOOP technology. It is a machine that is now installed in one of their Drottninggatan stores in Stockholm. The aim of the machine is to turn old used clothes into new garments right in front of the customer.
The machine cleans and shreds the cloths into fibers and then they are spun into new yarn. Some clothes will require some extra materials but they will be limited to as least as possible. No water is used by the machine and there is a minimum environmental impact as very less chemicals are involved in the process. The cost of turning your old clothes into new ones is just between $11-17.
