Eric Kripke, showrunner for the Amazon Prime series “The Boys” recently interviewed with IGN on the German ramblings of the superhero Stormfront following her defeat. As fans know, the Season 2 antagonist, Stormfront, revealed herself to be a subversive Nazi, entered into Vought’s experimental…what could be called a “Master Race” program.
With a name like “Stormfront” we very well could have predicted the character would be a racist. In the finale of “The Boys”” which premiered on Friday, she was defeated at the hands of Ryan, the son of Homelander and Rebecca Butcher via heat vision. She was scorched, crippled and bleeding rambling something in German. According to IGN’s interview with Eric Kripke:
“She’s remembering a time with [Frederick] Vought and her daughter, We thought that her pained, wounded, and slightly insane thought would be back to the time she’s the happiest. So we wrote a little speech about the moment she was happiest in her life and we translated it in German.”
The speech was translated by Peer Schneider of IGN’s staff as saying:
“Do you remember the day, Frederick — Chloe stuck her arms out of the car window. We found the perfect spot by the river in the shade of an apple tree. It was the first time…
In spite of the merciless, malicious and outright racist nature of the character, one couldn’t help but feel sorry for Stormfront…but we all agree, she was crazy, and needed to be put down.
