According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael B Jordan, as well as his team at Outlier Society, have signed on to produce the upcoming Static Shock movie, with Reginald Huldin set to direct.
Jordan had this to say to The Hollywood Reporter:
“I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that,” He said, “Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros on this initial step.”
DC not only surprised fans with the announcement of the film, but also the announcement of a new digital revival of the Static Shock comic series coming in February of next year alongside a graphic novel from artist Kyle Baker and Reginald Hudlin.
