As of yesterday, Virgil Abloh’s mentorship project “Free Game,” has been launched. “Free Game” was created as a response to the major issues facing the black community, specifically those in regards to the disparities of opportunities across many different mediums.
“As part of my long-standing initiative to see design, art, and culture more inclusive to young Black designers and those coming from non-traditional backgrounds, I wanted to assist in providing the means for them to advance on the road to ownership of their ideas and brands,” Abloh said. “I am launching this organic platform for widespread access to information and mentorship. The exact notions and tools that I used to formulate my career open to all. For free.”
Abloh also included a “Free Game” page, which will be continuously updated to ensure that the “all-access knowledge” maintains an optimum status. The page includes info on brand building, adobe creative suite, shopify, seeking out personal mentors and much more.
“Free Game” comes to play following the launch of Abloh’s “Post Modern Scholarship Fund” charity.
