When it comes to horror movies, fans of specific horror movies like to chalk up their favorites as the “scariest”. Most of the time horror fans choose to be biased towards classic movies i.e. Psycho, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, etc. Though a new study from Broadband Choices has performed a scientific study called “The Science of Scare Project” suggests that the scariest movie of all time is…Sinister!
The information was released via Forbes, conducted by Broadband Choices and is designed to track the heart rates of 50 viewers of over 100 horror movies. Through the carefully gathered data, they were able to construct the infographic available with the original article.
The study measured the heartbeats of viewers and recorded how high their heart rates rose up during certain movies. And as stated before Sinister measured at the top followed by, Insidious, The Conjuring, Hereditary and Paranormal Activity. During the viewing of Sinister, viewers saw an 32% rise in their heart rate at 86 BPMs.
Based o science it’s hard to believe that the classics rated lower than anticipated with A Nightmare on Elm Street in position 13, The Exorcist at position 17, and Alien in position 24!
