Those of us that love the idea of sustainability and recycling will be happy to hear that Mattel’s much loved card game series UNO, will get it’s own environmentally sustainable revamp. The cards are made out of “Nothin’ But Paper”.
Mattel has made the decision to remove cellophane from the manufacture of its products and will rely on paper, and paper alone for it’s 112, completely recyclable card decks.
This revamp of the popular game series is a part of an initiative made by toy and game companies in America to work towards the selling of products as well as their packaging, that are recyclable, recycled or made of bio-based plastics by 2035. Mattel had this to say:
“Small steps can make a big impact,” they said, “especially when these changes roll out through the most popular card game in the world.”
The UNO Nothin’ But Paper is currently being sold on Amazon for $6.
