A third party company calling itself “PlateStation 5” is reportedly already created and given pre-order availability to new faceplates compatible with the upcoming PS5 and will be shipped out prior to PS5’s November 12 release date. Meanwhile Sony has yet to unveil any official plans releasing faceplates of anything other than the standard white color.
PlateStation 5 is “not affiliated with Sony, PlayStation to the PlayStation 5 brand” yet still they are indeed offering 5 faceplate options for the upcoming PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition. These options are: Chromatic, Jungle Camo, Cherry Red, Limited Edition V1 Matte Black and Indigo Blue.
Each of the faceplates will cost $39.99 with PlateStation 5 saying the team was “born out of the single desire to create a Matte Black custom faceplate, simply because we believes it was what the PS5 community deserved.”
This news has brought PS5 fans to wonder when or even if Sony will release it’s own official options following their PS5 teardown video, as well as what this will mean for the consoles labeled limited edition.
