Many of us are aware of Hasbro’s acquisition of the Power Rangers franchise in 2018 from Saban. Well it will come as no shock toe find out that Hasbro wants to reboot the series. As exciting as that may be, however i wouldn’t put my hopes u just yet considering Hasbro’s failure when creating the film adaptations: GI-Joe Rise of Cobra (2009), Battleship (2012) and GI-Joe; Retaliation (2013).
Despite the above failures as well a the failure of Saban & Lionsgate to create 2017’s live action movie based on the hero group, Hasbro has, since the acquisition been planning to base the reboot on Japan’s Super Senti and will be produced by Toei Company alongside Bandai with Asahi handling the airing of the film.
According to reports, Hasbro has announced it has ambitious plans for the film (not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing). Hasbro also may be seeking to create it’s own media universe with Hasbro having reached out to Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F***ing World & Not Okay With This) to direcet a film as well as a TV series for eOne entertainment.
