TRAVIS SCOTT ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH PLAYSTATION

Given that it seems like in 2020 Travis Scott has been collaborating with everyone…and their mothers with the most obvious ones being McDonalds as well as Nike. Still it’s still shocking to hear that as of yesterday, the rapper announced that he is collaborating with Playstation.

Scott took to Instagram to make the announcement via a black & white video that featured Scott sitting in a chair with a sound system & TV in front of him alongside a booting up PS5. The video is interspersed with clips from Sony employees wearing never before seen PlayStation X Nike Dunk Low in addition to custom-made Cactus Jack merch. The video was tight on details about what the collaboration is comprised of, but the rapper made this statement:

“I’m super thankful and excited to be able to bring my strategic and creative vision to the rollout of such an iconic product,” Scott said. “I’ve always been a fan of PlayStation and the brand they’ve built, and this is another example of finding a partner who believes in and trusts Cactus Jack to execute for their brand. This is just the beginning of an incredible partnership.”

Travis Scott’s role as the “Strategic Creative Partner” places him in the position to lead several up and coming projects via the Cactus Jack imprint around the Next Gen console. According to Scott, he had rebuilt PlayStation’s Japan office. There has been speculation that the release of the aforementioned PlayStation X Nike Dunk Lows may coincide with the PS5’s November 12 release date.
