The much acclaimed game “The Last of Us” Remastered version for the PS4, has just gotten a new patch that appears to have reduced the game’s load times by over 70%.
It was reported by Kotaku that Anthony Calabrese, the speedrunner for the game stated that patch 1.11 makes the game function in a way that “loading screens are basically non-existent on PS4” for the Last of Us Remastered. The addition of the patch has saved 18 seconds in the David fight and functions in favor of both hdd and ssd.
ElAnalistaDBits, a gaming YouTuber has uploaded a video showcasing the new load times following the patch addition. Initially the load time for the game was roughly 1:30:10 which was cut down to 0:13:86 thanks to the patch. The creation if this patch on to The Last of Us Remastered does have the potential to be of a greater plan, especially in advance of the release of the PS5 &it’s PlayStation plus collection (which includes The Last of Us Remastered).
It wouldn’t be too far fetched to suggest that the Sony would be making the decision to better optimize the players experiences on the PS5 as another, unannounced upgrade while still increasing the gaming quality of the PS4 for those who aren’t yet ready to make the change just yet.
