Netflix has just posted new character images of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy via the official Netflix NX account on Twitter. For those unfamiliar with them, they are characters from Capcom’s upcoming CGI series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. Netflix announced that the series will be “set in the canon of Capcom’s classic survival horror franchise.”
The Tweet read: “When biohazards run wild, only a pair of veteran zombie slayers can get the job done,” and was posted along with the images. The series’ executive producer will be Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi who was responsible for producing many Resident Evil games into existence. The series will also be produced by TMS Entertainment which created several anime series, alongside Resident Evil: Vendetta’s producer Kei Miyamoto who is set to oversee the 3DCG animation.
Netflix, being the streaming service on which the series will be posted, is also workig on a live-action Resident Evil series, telling a completely different story through 2 different timelines centered on 2 sisters, Billie & Jade Wesker. The first season will consist of 8 Episodes and will be created by Andrew Dabb of Supernatural. Dabb will be the executive producer and showrunner for the series.
Resident Evil will also be brought to the big screen outside of Netflix with a brand new origin story movie in the works.
