EMPIRE MAGAZINE GIVES FIRST FULL LOOK AT SUICIDE SQUAD TEAM

With the upcoming James Gunn directed sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad coming in August 2021,he, via Empire magazine gave us a look at the new and returning team members who recently graced the cover of the magazine. The magazine cover shows villains and anti-heroes set to appear in the movie. They include: King Shark, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Weasel,The Thinker, Blackguard, Polka-Dot Man, Rick Flag, Savant, Javelin, TDK, Peacemaker, Ratcheter 2 and Bloodsport. these characters surround writer-director James Gunn.

Gunn gave out a warning to fans asking that they avoid getting attached to any characters: “In The Suicide Squad, some of the characters end up being good, some end up being terrible. They don’t just get in fights and say they’re going to kill each other, they actually do get in fights and kill each other.” Continuing on, he said “You really don’t know who’s going to live and who’s going to die. I was given full freedom to kill anyone—and I mean anyone—by DC.”

The only character confirmed by Gunn to survive the movie is Harley Quinn due to her “franchise armor” he said on Twitter. “No character was protected by DC…They gave me carte blanche to do what I wanted. That was one of the things we agreed to before I came to work for them. I wasn’t looking for shock value but I wanted the audience to know anything could happen.”

It looks like Suicide Squat movie will be D.C.’s own answer to the “nobody is safe” narratives that made Game Of Thrones so infamous. Currently the film is set to be released on August 6th, 2021.
