On Kanye’s appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, he mentioned that he was given an undeveloped part of Tortuga/Turtle Island by the Haitian President Jovenel Moïse. The rapper & U.S. Presidential Candidate has just clarified his collaboration with Iranian-American Venture Capitalist Shrvin Pishevar in Haiti.
West has encountered much backlash at the very idea of him working with a government on creating a “City of the future” which West responded with at tweet that read:
“Just to be CLEAR: WE ARE IN ENGAGED WITH HAITI’s GOVERNMENT to make a transformational INVESTMENT to bring JOBS, DEVELOPMENT, HELP SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS and FISHERMEN and Build a new « CITY OF THE FUTURE » in a very beautiful country.”
Kanye insists that the development of this smart city will be for Haiti’s benefit and that all money will be given back directly to local workers and farmers.
