The financial results of Microsoft’s 3rd quarter earnings as of Sep. 30th showed continued growth from the tech giant. The report released by Microsoft showed that revenue had increased by 12% at $37.2 billion USD compared to this point last year. The ovrall income had reportedly climbed by 30% and hit $31 billion USD over Q3. The Q1 2021 news comes following the company’s strong performance in Q4 of 2020 with a total of $38 billion reported.
Microsoft has listed some of the highlights of its business performance that contributed to the growth. The Productivity & Business Process Section which is comprised of products such as LinkedIn & MS Office amongst other Microsoft products, saw an 11% revenue boost; the Intelligent Cloud section saw revenue increase to 20% and More Personal Computing reported a 6% increase in revenue and a 30% increase with Xbox content & services.
The latest figures were announced by Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s C.E.O. who had this to say: “The next decade of economic performance for every business will be defined by the speed of their digital transformation. We are innovating across our full modern tech stack to help our customers in every industry improve time to value, increase agility, and reduce costs.”
Microsoft Amy Hood, CFO and Executive Vice President followed up with: “Demand for our cloud offerings drove a strong start to the fiscal year with our commercial cloud revenue generating $15.2 billion, up 31% year over year. We continue to invest against the significant opportunity ahead of us to drive long-term growth.”
