GOOGLE TO REACH FIRST STABILITY DRIVEN GOAL A YEAR IN ADVANCE

Last year, it was revealed by Google that by 2022 hey will have successfully used recycled materials in all of their hardware. That being said it will come as a relief to those of us who are environmentally conscious, that Google will have reached their goal a year early.

The company revealed that its “Nest” items as well as its Pixel phones 7 their accessories will, as of now be made completely of recycled material in one way or another. For instance, the back cover of the Pixel 5 will be constructed 100% of recycled Aluminum meanwhile the Nest Audio speakers are made of 70% recycled plastic. That is not to say that ALL of Google’s products are made 100% out of recycled materials. Thy will however be included as a major aspect in the designs.

Google’s sustainability systems architect, David Bourne had this to say: “Google’s focus on incorporating recycled materials in our hardware design not only supports our sustainability commitments but also enables our supply chain partners to confidently invest in and develop these types of materials so that the wider consumer electronics industry can use them too,”

Many of the promises made to consumers by Google center around the objective of sustainability. They made the promise of becoming carbon-free by the year 2030, back in September, and stating their commitment to use renewable or recyvled materials in their hardware products. David Bourne also had this to say: “We’ve already made a reduction in plastic use in our packaging since 2016, but we have a lot of hard work ahead in order to meet this new goal,”
