A new report from Rise at Seven is providing new insights into the upcoming next-gen gaming consoles, Sony’s PS5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X.
The report utilizes Google search data alongside the market share stats from the Internet. The report concluded that the demand for both consoles is extremely high, however, Sony’s PS5 has the greater demand of the two per country totaling at 84% of the global market. To put things in perspective, that’s 148 countries out of 161 countries.
To the surprise of many, the Xbox Series X tops the PS5 in Mexico (between 63.26% & 36.74%) as well as Afghanistan (between 90.72% & 9.28%). Meanwhile, the PS5 completely controls Japan (the console’s home country) by 98.94% as opposed to Xbox’s 1.05%. Japan’s enthusiasm for the upcoming console is seconded by Denmark at 81.24% as opposed to 18.76% for Xbox.
