“The Goodtimes Hotel”, the newest hotel establishment from nightclub mogul David Grutman and singer Pharrell Williams is making its way to the shores of Miami Beach. Pharrell explained that the 266-room building “is like being in a Wes Anderson film”.
Pharrell discussed in an interview with Vogue “It’s good vibes, good energy, good karma, good food, good music, good environment, good vibration,” Pharrell said. “Come there one way, and then you leave vibrating. We call it spiritual Wi-Fi.”
The hotel is located in an area that hasn’t really received much attention, that being the Washington Avenue area of Miami’s South Beach. Developer, Eric Birnbaum had this to say about the hotel: “In a weird way, the area kind of reminds me a little bit of Williamsburg, before Williamsburg became Williamsburg,” he continued. “Places that were amazing at one time always have a great chance of being amazing again, because there’s something about the energy of that latitude and longitude where The Goodtime is located that just works.”
The hotel features a 45,000 sq-ft of shopping space, an eatery, an outdoor workout area, a recording studio, a lobby lounge and a pool deck on the 3rd floor. GoodTimes measures up to 7 stories tall and includes a glass roofed breezeway with greenery adorning the structure with the inclusion of white columns. The hotel’s interior designer Ken Fulk was quoted on the hotel as saying: “I think when you see all of the spaces together, there’s something that feels as if it could be from the 19th century, mixed with mid-century Dolce Vita, mixed with a dose of 1980s optimism,”
Pharrell’s GoodTimes Hotel is expected to open in January of 2021.
