Earlier we reported that GameStop had opened a frankly, cruel and unusual contest that asked its workers to essentially dance for their dinner on TikTok. Now it’s been reported that the TikTok challenge has been cancelled. The contest required a synchronized TikTok dance to be submitted to the head offices in exchange for prizes. The official description from GameStop according to The Gamer, reads as follows:
“The winner of the challenge will receive an Echo 8, Echo Auto, $100 VISA gift card and 10 additional labor hours to use during Black Friday week,” the statement reads. “Imagine what you could do with all those prizes.”
You’ve got to be F****** kidding us! The GameStop employers should all be ashamed of themselves “ImAgInE WhAT YoU CaN Do WiTh AlL ThOsE PrIzEs”, F*** GameStop.
The announcement was originally on GameStop’s conference portal, but due to the outrage that the contest caused the post was removed. No official announcements from GameStop have been given on whether or not the contest has been cancelled. When approached for comment by IGN, GameStop provided no comment.
