Johnny Depp, following his loss of his libel suit against the tabloid newspaper “The Sun”, has announced via Instagram that he won’t be reprising his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the “Fantastic beasts and Where to Find Them” franchise. The Instagram post stated that Depp agreed to leave the role after being “asked” to resign by Warner Bros.
The post continues by saying: “The surreal judgement of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight to tell the truth, and I confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time.”
No information has been given as to who will be replacing Depp as Grindelwald.
