With barely 24 hours passing between Joe Biden’s projected win of the Presidency, SNL celebrated the occasion by providing an election covfefe…I mean coverage inspired cold open. The skit features Jim Carrey as Joe Biden in a recreation of the Election Night in America from CNN. The skit also featured Beck Bennett playing Wolf Blitzer and Alex Moffat playing John King as they make the declaration of Biden and Harris’s win (Harris being played by Maya Rudolph). The speech given by Carrey and Rudolph were mirror images of the speeches given earlier that evening.
Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump was also featured in the skit giving a “gracious and factual” concession speech alongside a COVID 19 map that showed all red states saying: “As anyone who died halfway through Tuesday knows, I was re-elected president of the United States,” Baldwin then went on to do a sad version of the song “Macho Man” by The Village People.
