SpaceShipTwo, the next project from Virgin Galactic will be making its launch very soon. This will mark the first Virgin Galactic spaceflight outside fo Spaceport America. The launch is announced to be set between Nov. 19th – 23rd. No solid date has been revealed as of yet.
The spaceflight announcement is following Virgin’s third quarter of 2020 documents being released. The reports showed that SpaceShipTwo is set to carry NASA’s flight opportunities program payloads. It was also reported on the document that Virgin sustained a loss of $77 million USD, which is an increased loss of $14 million USD from last quarter. Dr. Alan Stern has agreed to ride on the spacecraft with the expectation that he conduct his experiments in suborbital space.
Following Virgin CEO Richard Branson’s suborbital flight set for 2021, ticket sales will be opening up to the public. Additionally, Virgin also has canceled its program called “One Small Step” which allows qualified consumers to be moved up the waitlist. The cancellation is due to its accumulation of roughly 900 participants.
