Artist Felipe Pantone, following his design of the one-off INTR3PID Carbon Club Airplane, has created a new limited edition sculpture through his Optichromeie modular art series. The sculpture is titled OP3DS which takes its inspiration from the vertical fin of an airplane that according to a press statement “evokes speed, contemporaneity, and technological advancement,” in addition to direction and stability.
The OP3DS sculptures are 40 X 25 cm and used aluminum, UV paint & PMMA. For those who purchase one of the sculptures, they will be signed and numbered by pantone. There are only 50 pieces & 5 artist proofs that will be available to buy on Nov. 13th, on Pantone’s art site.
The artist is most known for his multi-medium style of art that includes sculpting, installation, new media and painting. This newest sculpture utilizes new configurable pieces that expand on the artist’s style accentuated by computer assistance that bring up the subjects of perception & reliance on technology.
