Disney, as many of us are aware has been remaking their classic animated films into live-action versions.
That being said, its been reported that Jon M. Chu, director of Crazy Rich Asians is in talks to direct the live-action Lilo & Stitch.
Sources report that no screenwriter or cast members have been announced, or if the movie will be going to theaters or Disney+. Although Jonathan Eirich & Dan Lin of Rideback will be producing the movie. Rideback’s Ryan Halprin will serve as executive producer.
The animated original movie came out in 2002 with Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders directing. The storyline followed Lilo, a 6-year-old Hawaiian girl and her teenage sister Nani who choose to adopt Stitch, a blue alien fugitive from outer space. They teach Stitch the wholesome values of Hawaii such as family, honesty and integrity. The animated film would later branch off into several sequels and a spinoff series on the Disney Channel.
