Yara Flor, the newly announced Wonder Woman from DC’s Future State comic event is getting her own CW series.
According to sources, CW will be developing a show coming from Berlanti Productions’ Greg Berlanti, in addition to executive producer & co-showrunner of Queen of the South, Dailyn Rodriguez. The show will be the first to portray a Latina superhero, as well as being based on a character that has yet to make its debut in the world of DC comics.
In the upcoming Future State Series from DC, Yara Flor will serve as the new Wonder Woman, who is both an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River Goddess. She later takes up the mantle of Wonder Girl. Diana Prince will still remain in the comics, though she will be seen as Immortal Wonder Woman in a separate comic series.
Wonder Girl will be joining a slew of other existing DC series on the CW such as Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl, The Flash, Batwoman and Superman and Lois.
