Since the release of the (God awful) theatrical version of Justice League in 2017, fans have been demanding to see what Zack Snyder envisioned for the infamous superhero team. Following the initial disappointment, it was revealed to fans that the film was the result of various mandates and incidents occurring behind-the-scenes via Warner Bros.
Following Snyder’s exit from the project due to the loss of his daughter, Joss Whedon was forced to take over the duties as director. This likely the reason for the issues with tonality, changing from the grim style of Zack Snyder, to the more comedic style of Joss Whedon at random points in the film. Whedon was also forced by Warner Bros. to cut the movie down to 2 hours.
Now that the extended and re-imagined version of the film is on its way from the man himself, fans are getting a look at what’s in store. The film will reportedly include 5 minutes on new material, in addition to $70 million worth of additional edits and effects to bring it into a singular vision. The movie will be premiering next year as a 4-part miniseries and then a singular director’s cut.
