The infamous Harvey Weinstein, who is most known for being the major subject of the #MeToo movement has been placed in isolation having caught a fever of 101 degrees. Doctors are under the impression that Weinstein contracted the Coronavirus. Law enforcement sources say that he’s “doing poorly”.
On Tuesday morning, the blackballed producer was tested though no results have been announced yet. Despite this the suspicions alone are enough to have Weinstein put into a 72-hr quarantine. He’ll be taken to the prison’s hospital provided those suspicions are true. Weinstein is already considered to be high-risk based on his age, illness and pre-existing health issues.
The purpose of his trip to the hospital was due to chest pains following his trial sentence earlier this year. He brought a walker into the courtroom due to back issues in addition to his problems with diabetes and high blood pressure. Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison on charges of sexual assault.
Representatives of Weinstein had this to say on the situation: “It should come as no surprise that Mr. Weinstein has numerous maladies and conditions including a heart condition, high blood pressure and spinal stenosis,” said the reps. “We are working with the NYSDOCCS and the excellent team at Wende CF to ensure Mr. Weinstein receives the proper medical attention he needs.”
The representatives neither confirmed nor denied whether or not his current illness is related to COVID-19.
