Even though director Spike Lee may have done almost everything under the sun during his extensive career, this new film project will still turn a few heads.
It’s been reported on Tuesday that Lee is set to create a new biopic Musical about the creators of the world renowned erectile dysfunction pill, Viagra. The project is reportedly drawing its structure off of an Esquire article from David Kushner called: All Rise: The Untold Story of the Guys Who Launched Viagra.
Kwame Wwei-Armah is set to write the screenplay for the yet to be titled musical. The film’s music will also feature original music from Heidi Rosdewald and Stew Stewart who were behind the Tony Award-winning musical, “Passing Strange”. Producers will included Jackson Pictures’ Matt Jackson, Mule Filmworks and 40 Acres. Both David Kushner and Jackson Pictures’ Joanne Lee will act as executive producers, overseen by Ilda Diffley.
Lee had this to say in a statement announcing the film: “First And Foremost, I Thank Ms. Jacquelyn Shelton Lee.
