Cosmetics brand Estee Lauder, like many other companies is making new use of its budget in light of the Coronavirus setbacks and letting their creativity soar…all the way to the International Space Station.
Instead of using its spending money on an IG influencer with a large following for only a few posts, Estee Lauder is asking NASA to bring 10 bottles of its Advanced Night Repair onto the ISS Cupola observational module for a photoshoot featuring planet Earth as the backdrop. The bottles will then be brought back to Earth and subsequently auctioned off.
The director of commerical spaceflight development at NASA, Phil McAlister notes: “We need to expand people’s perspective on what we can accomplish in space.” Even though the pandemic led to the demise of many industries, it’s great to see that creativity isn’t dead. Bloomberg, in light of the news posted their own mock-up of what the ads might look like.
