According to his death certificate, the late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has been cremated and they will be held onto by his widow at their family home in Studio City, California. It was also listed on the certificate that his occupation was a “Quiz show host” and had been working in the industry for 60 years.
Trebek’s death of was signed 10 days following his death from pancreatic cancer after fighting it for 22 months. Trebek’s stage 4 diagnosis was announced back in March of 2019, though he continued to film episodes of the famed quiz show while receiving chemotherapy treatments. He passed away on November 8th surrounded by friends and family. Jean Currivan, Trebek’s wife of 30 years took to Instagram to send out a message to fans of the show after his death
“My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity,” she said. “Your expressions have truly touched our hearts. Thank you so very, very much. Many Blessings to all, Jean Trebek.”
Alex Trebek is survived by his kids Emily and Matthew. The final episode of Jeopardy! featuring Trebek as the host will premiere on Christmas Day. No information has been given on who his replacement will be.
