James Bond fans will be happy to hear that an entirely original 007-origin story will be coming to PCs and Consoles. The project is in development at IO Interactive alongside MGM, Delphi and EON Productions and has been announced today with the working title of “Project 007”.
The game is in active development at IO Interactive’s Malmö, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark offices with the assistance of gaming’s top talent. The game will be made for the next gen systems and platforms and be powered by IO Interactive’s Glacier technology.
The CEO of IO Interactive, Hakan Avrak had this to say about the project: “Creating an original Bond game is a monumental undertaking,” he said. “Our passionate team is excited to unleash their creativity into the iconic James Bond universe and craft the most ambitious game in the history of our studio.”
With game titles such as Freedom Fighters and Hitman in addition to other award winning stealth and espionage games under their belts, I think we can be certain that IO Interactive can definitely pull this off.
