According to an official Twitch Q & A from Microsoft Flight Simulator Developer, VR support will be made available on Dec. 22nd 2020 with full UK World Update completed by Jan. 26th, 2021. The VR will be added on in the free Simulator Update 2 for the large VR headsets that include Valve and Oculus. Also, the VR experience will feature both in the menus and gameplay providing an immersive and smooth experience.
The World Update 3 will be building a more precise version of the UK utilizing new data in addition to aerial views of England, Scotland & Wales. There will also include 50-60 new points of interest featuring new landmarks, procedural buildings and improvements to various existing airports such as Manchester Baron, Land’s End and Liverpool EGGP. There will also be new challenges & flights also.
The Northern Ireland region will also feature new improvements though it is still in Asobo’s planning phase and probably won’t be ready by the World Update 3 release. This UK World Update comes following similar updates made for the U.S. and Japan intended to further improve te already astounding views of the terrain players can explore. In addition, Asobo stated that it would return to the U.S. in future world updates that include improvements made to states such as Alaska, Hawaii and more.
