Less than 2 weeks following the introduction of Twitter’s disappearing Tweet function also called “fleets”, music streaming service Spotify looks to be hopping on the bandwagon. Spotify has started testing out a story-ish feature for certain playlists which include Christmas music, as well as a playlist for Megan Thee Stallion’s “Good News”
This story-function from Spotify will act similarly to the swipe-through format used by competing platforms. It will also be featuring clips of artists talking about their songwriting process as well as more exclusive stories discussing the artist’s music on those playlists. Currently Spotify will not allow users to add stories on their own playlists.
A Spotify representative released this statement outlining the move to try new things to furthr develop their platform: “Some of those tests end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time,”
