UK customers who bought a PS5 via Amazon have reportedly gotten alternate items instead of the recently launched console. Only recently has Amazon started emailing customers informing them that a new shipment of PS5s have been secured and that customers will be receiving the console inside a 14-day window.
According to an email gotten by a writer that had investigated this PS5 issue in the UK Amazon wrote that “We are pleased to confirm that we will be able to secure a PlayStation 5 for you as a replacement for the order that you didn’t receive.”
Happy #PS5 day everyone. Tried to document our one’s unveiling, but Amazon have tricked us with an unsolicited air fryer instead (after giving delivery password). Anyone else had this problem today? pic.twitter.com/99IUSzSJUU

After making an explanation that the process needed to be completed so that Amazon would be informed by the customer that the order needs to be re-opened the email said: “Subject to valid payment, we expect to dispatch your PlayStation 5 within 14 days of your confirmation,”
According to sources, this issue that has arisen in the U.K. with customers receiving miscellaneous items from dog food to cooking or fitness equipment, is the first time in the company’s history that they have sought to resolve issues by means outside of refunds.
