Even though the plans for Universal’s Dark Universe haven’t been going according to plan, they will still be working on rebooting their individual titles. Sources report that Universal has confirmed that a reboot of 2004’s Van Helsing movie is in the process of development.
Currently very little information has been released about the upcoming reboot though it has been reported that director of The Conjuring and the Original Saw movie James wan is set to produce, while Overlord’s Julius Avery will be directing. Avery will also re-writing a script for the movie previously drafted by Eric Pearson, who has previously worked on the upcoming Black Widow Disney+ series and Thor Ragnarok.
Back in 2012, it was rumored that Universal would be making a Van Helsing Reboot starring Tom Cruise and directed by Guillermo Del Toro. Unfortunately for fans of the infamous Vampire-Hunter the film was never made though Cruise was still able to star in Universal’s 2017 reboot of The Mummy
