With COVID-19 seeing an additional jump in cases, museums in Hong King have taken the initiative by closing their doors a second time. Sadly, the whole nation of China is seeing the middle part of its 4th-wave of COVID and has made this order to continue all the way to December 15th at the earliest.
The museums that have been reported to be closing are: Hong Kong Museum of Art, Para Site and the Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts. Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong said that public employees need o be working from home and that Lam will be pushing companies to have their employees do the same. Also, social gatherings of any and all kinds need to be limited to 2 people so as to disrupt the virus from spreading. Surprisingly, beauty parlors and workout gyms still have the ability to stay open for regular business.
Over the course of this year, only a select few art events took place in-person in Hong Kong, which included the Hong Kong Spotlight from Art Basel that occurred over the last weekend of November.
