Since the release of the first installment in the Fast and Furious franchise back in 2001, various eye-popping custom cars such as the various re-imaginings of the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Han’s Veilside Mazda RX-7 and of course Dom’s Charger.
Alberta, Canada resident Jorge Acosta is reportedly so big of a fan of the Fast and Furious cars that he owns 24 replicas from the film series. Acosta is not only in possession of the 3 cars mentioned above, but also the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, a Honda S2000, a next-gen Toyota Supra, the original Mitsubishi Eclipse, Evo and Spyder, in addition to a Subaru WRX STI, a Volkswagen Jetta, A Nissan 350Z, and a new-gen Toyota Supra.
Acosta stated in an interview that: “My dream was the green Eclipse, so I built one three years ago, and that’s it… Everything started from there.” Acosta continued, “I didn’t want to have the largest Fast and Furious car collection in the world on purpose, right? But then I started getting excited.”
His passion for the cars began following his first time seeing the race, with his obsession growing the more he researched the cars found in the Fast and Furious franchise later tracking down the first film’s technical advisor Craig Lieberman.
Currently Acosta is seeking to grow his collection up to 35 cars. For the JDM car models, a collector usually be importing the car from Japan in order to sell, to later fund the replicas tat can include body kits, that can on occasion be priced higher than the car itself.
