What Was It Like Making Netflix’s “The Irishman”?

In the days leading to the premiere of the Netflix movie “The Irishman” which documents the life of a man who later on becomes a collaborator of iconic Unionist and Teamster, Jimmy Hoffa, legendary director Martin Scorcese alongside the equally legendary Italian actors Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro for a roundtable discussion video talking about their respective careers. That being said, the video has recently been released via Netflix.

The conversation between these Hollywood legends took place and was recorded back in 2019 and has been neatly edited for the sake of the premier of the Criterion Collection Blu-ray edition for The Irishman. The discussion clip spans the course of 20-minutes as they talk about how each of them met 40-50 years ago and what their experiences of working in the film industry back when they began their careers. They told stories of never having rehearsed for certain scenes in addition to acting with their whole bodies as opposed to just their faces.

And obviously “The Irishman” Netflix movie itself and how the technology that made the actors appear younger actually made their jobs harder. You can watch the 20-minute discussion clip down below:
